Well im getting the GF a wii for xmas. I was thinking about getting a Mod Chip for it. A Drivekey one so she can backup her games incase of damage, play import discs and so on.

Anyone got a modded wii? recommend a chip? any advice?

Any negatives to it? other positives?

Regards

J

Yep, it will invalidate the warranty.

I wouldnt advise getting one. Games are released around the same time, so unless theres some obscure Japanese title that you want, there really isnt a need to mod it.

You could just softmod it with a copy of Zelda?

I did one for a family member a while ago, then after a month it started getting glitches on the screen. Its common apparantly but obviously with the warranty voided not much I could do.

Softmodding is better, you can still play all your homebrew off USB sticks and the like.
