Pulling my hair out with this. Changed fuses just in case and relay. No chaffed wires in door pillar and button is fine. Only after a battery change. AHHhhhhhhhhhh

Miles away mate in East Lothian but thanks anyway. Someone suggested disconnect battery and touch leads to fully discharge any power as the computer may be confused but holding energy. Hmmmm

i honestly think just disconnecting the battery and leaving it for half an hour to reset the cars brain wouldn't do any harm.

Recon a volt meter across the battery with engine on and off would be a decent start.

Why was the battery changed? just old and not holding charge over a period of time or was it a quicker thing? just thinking along the lines of a potential overcharge happening, but most likely is an earth of some sorts.

Old and not holding charge. I grant you I left the car 8 days but still, the battery was down to 9.xx Volts. No mater now as its sorted with the help of an old post. See 2nd last post here
