Here it is folks, my wee silver Cinq Sporting. Registered in June 98 on an R plate. 5 previous owners when ah picked it up in October 08. The car has run brilliantly since ah got it an it came with a bit of history too (which can be rare these days)

4years MOT Certificates and receipts for,
Sept 07 - New Cambelt, Spark Plugs, Aux. Drive belt, Engine/Gear box Oil - £276.13 FIAT Carlisle
Sept 07 - New Cooling Fan - £106.46 FIAT Carlisle
June 08 - New Centre Silencer & Backbox - £159.22 Hi-Q Carlisle

Pictures taken pre-MOT (Sept 09) Lowering springs are fitted, although it turned out the rear two were snapped. View attachment 1378View attachment 1379View attachment 1380

Here's how the car has looked up till now, standard rear springs View attachment 1381

Mods to come,
FK Cinq/Sei 70/50 suspension kit http://www.venommotorsport.com/product_details.php?id=8844&manufacturer=FK&category=Suspension Delivered
Eibach camber bolts http://www.venommotorsport.com/prod...facturer=Eibach Alignment&category=Suspension Delivered
B-pillar blacked out, Saturday
Suspension & Anti-roll bar bushes http://www.strong-flex.eu Product ID: 066074A End of March
14" Abarth Speedline 5 Spoke alloys, need to sort out new tyres & spacers once suspension has settled

Av measured the height of all four corners and will post them up with some pictures of the suspension kit on.

No performance mods needed yet, nippy enough for me, even rocking on down the motorway. Especially through the Pennines M6 J38 Tebay > J36 Kendal

Defo look nice there :) .

Is no point in doing the front bushes, as the ball joints on the arm for the track rod end on the arm can't be replaced (well can't get replacement). Might as well just buy 2 new arms (around £50 for the pair, very cheap), rear bushes and anti roll bar bushes.

Take a look at these:

Poweflex rear bushes - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/POWERFLEX-FIA...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item5885d9381d (cheaper than the polish ones)

Pair of front arms - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FIAT-CINQUECE...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item4135e64575

Well obv you can buy new arms and get the bushes out of them and fit poly ones :) .

OH aye, did you get the bump stop ? Or did you just cut the orginial. ON the rear of the cinq, I have just cut down the bump stop, think it should be ok.

Do keep us updated which bump stop you got for the cinq!

Nice mate, liking that subtle handbrake mod a LOT!

You just using that sticky on vinyl for the B pillars?

Thankfully the handbrake started working again after it settled. Then passed the MOT without need for adjustment :dance3: Yeah just gona try some of the fablon stuff on it to see what it'll be like. Av seen pictures of a few cinqs/sei's with it dun an it looks good.

Cheers for that advise Ming, al look into that before buying the bushes. Av spend weeks looking everywhere at prices of bushes an think the Strongflex are the best value for money. Unless shops have stock of Cinq/Sei bushes then no-one will get them as there on hold until Powerflex get there factory back into full production and have plentiful stocks of popular kits.

As for bump stops, am just cutting them for now. Rear has now been done, but need to cut more off the bumpstop so that's tonight's job and the front tomorrow morning. Lets hope for sunshine!!

LOL, disk conversion has been on my mind, especially with the 14s sitting waiting to go on. Am gona wait till nearer the MOT cos it needs the brake lines done before hand so gona get it all done in one go

It wusna too bad really, just a few revs an launched out into the street :neo: sumhow ah don't think that'll work with the lower suspension cos the front wheels are going down the kerb before the rears are off the drive, could be fun :rolleyes2:

Nice looking Alfa ya got there, the wife's a big fan of Alfa's an hopes to have another soon. Her last were a mk1 147, can wait till the new giulietta comes out :man_in_love:

Oh all, you going to renew all your hard pipes? I'd serious think before doing it :p . Like if all the flexi comes off, then what is the point :) .

Take a look at my thread for the rear flexi, defo a worth while job it cuts down 2 joins = less rust , less hassel when removing.

Looks like a nice Cinq - I've been trying to convince my sis to trade in her rather ropey R-reg Ka for one. That or a 106, but I can imagine which one people on here would rather she get :D

Ah love the cinq, but ad have another sei if ah was to look again. My only trouble is it'd have to be a mk1 abarth sporting in Grigio Vinci like my first cento but there difficult to come by. Although ah won't put 15's on a cento again!

Well suspension was a pure bar stewart to do!! :moil: 2 seized bolts ment it took far longer to do than ah thought. tbh it just looks the same as it did when ah first bought it. Tried to fit the front springs ghetto style without spring compressors FAIL, they rubbed on the inner arch an sounded like they were gona pop out. Picked up sum spring compressors fae the local motor factor an sorted them out. Now it drives pretty well although still to get the tracking sorted. Ah chopped 30mm off the front bumpstops, cana mind off the rear but they need chopped again. Ah can still get in an out of ma drive nae bother, just have to wait an see if it settles any.

Didna get round to doing the B-pillar, that an a good wash n polish have had to wait till next week now

pug106 :p ?

Yup. Driven my mate's 1.1 a fair few times and it's brilliant fun to drive. Not the most reliable, but at least if (read when) it breaks down I've got people in the know for it

Yeah, seized bolts caused major issues on my Stilo when I was fitting the Eibach set up. Garage had to be called in to sort it out, though that did help me find a good independent to rely on :)

Main reason I'm trying to get my sis away from the Ka is though that she paid £600 odd for it a year ago and just spent over £400 to get it through it's MOT due mostly to welding. Kind of defeats the point in getting a cheap banger if you're spending that much to keep it on the road

FK 70/50 suspension kit on

Here's a little teaser shot for ya's, the backs still sitting a little higher than ad hoped, but pleased with the results. Had a tiny bit of scrubbing this morning on left hand full lock but not worried about that atm. Might when the 6x14s go on.

Ah will get some better ones when ah go for a thrash down the m/way tomorrow :crazy_pilot:

Ooh, here my highly technical image of speed bump clearance

Av measured the height of all four corners

Av bin out an measured the drop, bearing in mind that there was lowering springs on the front and standard on the rear. The front has lowered an extra 20mm and the rear has lowered 50mm

Makes me think they were either shagged 40mm springs or 50mm lowering springs on when ah bought the car.

YcMing said:
Those tyres 165/55/13 aye?

nope, currently 175/60/13 which the previous owner fitted. Cost about half the price of the 165/55/13's
