Posts: 55 Thanks: 1 Trader Rating: 0 ![]() | Engine Siezed So the engine in my 500 is died (moment of silence) ! But got new engine for it for $400, and it has 60000 less km on it. Buddy and I r changing it on wknd. So is it hard or not ?

![]() | Re: Engine Siezed assuming its the 1.2 it shouldn't be too hard to swap. A mechanic friend of mine had the clutch out on one of these cars in about 15 minutes. (I could never do it in that time) The aircon isn't a problem just unbolt the compressor from the engine and leave it in the car while the engine is out, should avoid having to mess about gassing the system later. i'd be interested to know how you managed to kill the engine as well. They take a serious amount of abuse these little fiat engines.

Oil light fluickered on 401 at 110kmh and as i was pulling off rd it spewed all his oil out. Had it towed home. Filled oil engine cranked fine then a big clunk. Now nada. Put convertible back on rd.

AFAIK these are multiair motors.. If its lost its oil pressure.. it cant inject fuel There are 'parameters' that have to be met..and potentially a few things reset ![]() Did you figure out why it dumped the oil..?
