i have the ELM327 OBDII Diagnostic Bluetooth Code Reader. i usually connect to it with my android phone and monitor realtime info as im driving. also check for codes.

somewhere on this forum i recall someone recommending OBD II software made for computers that is more robust than the phone apps...with it you can clear service reminder nags and even reprogram creature comforts like automatic timeout of lights and other things.

does anyone recall what the name of this or other software is? i did several search but cant seem to find it.

whoa,

thx charlie this may be what i need. checking out out now.

anyone else have other links.

Just browsing (not for system tweak stuff) and came across this very comprehensive OBD diagnostic outfit including laptop (no charger, old battery, old spec but working..). It covers multiple marques including trucks and I know we only want it for two vehicles but the Fiat is covered.

Seeing the amount of things it does, which seems to be a lot more than the general OBD that my local lndie has (and Autoworld too) I'd think it's well worth it. The start price is 99p though looking down the listings it can be loaded onto the tough-book lappies, with a current bid price of £150+ but it still seems good. You'd still require the leads to connect..

Any thoughts or experiences?

The most telling bit of the advert is the last line, where it says that although all the software is up to date, future updates CANNOT be downloaded. To me that says it's a knackered laptop loaded with hooky software. I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.
