Bonnet Release

Hey guys

Opened my bonnet yesterday (Since the engine management light was on again so wanted to find a simple fix (Which now has sorted it's self out as my car regularly does)) but when I then went to close my bonnet again it clicked onto the first latch but not the secondary latch that actually holds it down fully. The handle to release the bonnet is now fully open since the cable is slack, so I'm assuming either the cable has snagged on something, or the latch it's self is jammed, I had a bit of a play with you WD40 to try and free it up to no relief. I couldn't quite follow the path of the cable to check if it were snagged or anything so wondering if anyone to give me some advice so to either free up the latch, or what direction I should be looking in to find the cable.

Thanks in advance
Jon

Maybe just needs greasing. try working it by hand grease all pivot points and the spring untilthey move freely, put some grease on the plunger

Thanks

Thanks for that, managed to get a temporary fix sorted on it now at least (Forcing the mechanism shut) have to try and get it to start returning by its self again, but at least the bonnet shut fling up and smash my windscreen now!

This is a thing that gets neglected. Been lots of hoorror stories on this site with bonnets flying up and doing lots of damage. Worth a few minutes every year just to keep it working normally
