Bonnet won't release

Any ideas?

when pulling the release lever it feels as though the lever is bending and not actually pulling the wire, in other words the cable is so stiff it's barely moving.

I used to have to get a mate to push down on the bonnet while I pulled the lever but now this doesn't work either.

pretty gutted as I've had to rip the grill panel off to manually release the bonnet and do my levels etc.

the bonnet is also a pain to shut again as it just bounces back up, needs a good old fasioned bit of anger.

This is making topping screen wash up etc. an hour long job! so any ideas would be ace

You need plenty of grease on the moving and contacting parts
