Ok, when I had my Mondeo, I bought a cigarette lighter socket doubler so I could charge my mobile and my GPS or other phone at the same time. The socket was embedded in the centre console and was easy to plug into and forget about.

I forgot that the Marea socket is in the ashtray and although I can still use the doubler, to leave it plugged in means leaving the ashtray open which then obscures the handy tray underneath !

Ideally, I'd like to hardwire this doubler in somehow. Is this easy & safe ?

Secondly, I noticed a blanked out hole on the centre console. Is this for anything inoparticular ? Could a second 12V power supply be installed here ?

I know a dedicated hands free kit would be a lot neater, but they cost a bomb and I'm always changing my phone !! LOL

Any comments/pics/tips appreciated

When Tommy K had a turbo timer in his car he moved the 12v socket down on the centre console next to the coin holder, maybe you could do the same? I'm sure he will let you know how he did it.

you could do a tommy k and move the cig lighter socket onto the centre console, or wire in another cig lighter so you could still have the internal one

there isnt a blank in the console i think the bit ur goin on bout is like a cap in the shape of a circle, if it is there is a screw underneath there fixing the console to the centre bracket?
