Hi All,

Got a wee problem with my Bravo (1.6 HLX, 2001). When braking from above 80MPH I get a rumbling noise from the brakes, this is only when braking heavily though. If I ease on the brakes its fine.

Any thoughts? Thought at first it might be the discs may have warped but not so sure.

yeah you tend to get that under heavy braking, especially in the S/SX as it doesn't have the vented brakes like the HLX or higher. If it bugs you that much try uprating the disks and pads

And then you get worse brake noise!

Hmmm, okay, only reason I ask is it was fine up until about month or two ago. Would break quite happily from high speeds with no real noise. Certainly not like this anyway.

Ah, you did not mention that.

They are most likely getting a bit worn but still nothing to worry about unless its a real metal on metal grind.

Got the service and MOT next month so maybe worth getting them to do it then? What do you think?

They will check them as part of the service, as I said unless its a really nasty metal on metal grind its most likely just the brakes showing their age.
