iv got a bravo,
when i change into second at high revs it crunchs???
does this happen alot with brovos??? is it a big deal to get fixed???

can anyone give me advice, please?

2nd gear complaints have always been common, so it must be a Fiat thing.
In my case I find it hard to change down from second when in the very high part of the rev band.

It could be that you are experiencing the beginning of a worn out clutch...altough some tell me that its the syncromesh.

If you give us some more detail then we might help you more.

Eg.
whether you hear the crunching every time you change into second;
whether you hear it when changing up;
whether when changing down;
and what you mean by high revs (whether its 6500rpm or 4000rpm; they are both high but it makes a difference)

re,

it grinds (cogs sliding off each other) like im not using the clutch at all. it happens above 3500 revs changing up and down.

The clutch seams fine to me otherwise. iv only got 30,000 miles on it so i dont think it should be giving me trouble.

Re: re,

Could be a synchromesh problem, which will be expensive

Could be a low level of oil in the gearbox - cheaper to fix.

You might benefit from changing the gearbox oil for a different grade or a synthetic. In gearboxes it can make a real difference.

Does it help if you make slower changes?

yeh mine too

I have the same problem, mine works fine if i drop the revs totaly and drop from 3rd to 2nd, but sometimes i find myself fighting to get it into gear> and then get a slight crunch.
Is this a common fault????

what options are we looking at????????????

Re: yeh mine too
