Abandonned runway, all well and good, but wheres your rescue team when something goes wrong. You gonna race if it rains? or even snows?? Who's gonna check the vehicles over and make sure they're safe before competing??
Why not wait till the start of the new season and go to a real track (bendy/roundy-roundy or straight) and do it properly where hopefully no-one will get hurt, but if they do the correct care will be available. I'm no killjoy but I've seen some pretty bad accidents in the 20 years I've been around racing, and most of them weren't at huge speeds.

I really think the site should disassociate itself from this sort of thing, as legally it could be seen as promoting this "event" and could end up in deep water if anything went wrong.
