hope not to be the bearer of bad news but i too am having probs with my ducatto 2.8d at the mo. the key-code light remaining on is a sign that the immobiliser transponder is malfunctioning and unlike petrol versions this is a main dealer fix whereby the code needs to be reset using the red masterkey and then recoding any spares you have. my problem however is that i was not supplied with this key (even though i bought the vehicle from new april 2002) and so the ecu needs to be removed and the controlling chip drilled out thus disabling the immobiliser at £420.00 or replacing the key set and relevent tranponder at well over £1000.00 (info from fiat main dealer) as far as air in system try removing diesel filter and turn engine over briefly to purge or is there a bleed screw by filter. good luck

Thanks Kev. Fortunatley I do have the red key (for what its worth). Unfortunatley I Live in the Isle Of Mann so I not stuck with one dealership. After not plugging it in today as promised he has promised yet again tomorrow. It does sound like the same fualt as yours. I will let you know what I find out (when I get it plugged in. The air in fuel was my thinking the fuel switch was working. Don't understand the heater plug light not coming on.

Hi there. We got plugged in today. Codes all re-set & running. Will find out in the next few days if it will remain so. Because of where I live it took a call to Fiat U K to get results. All is sorted & if anyone wants to know how it is done, keeping arms & legs attatched! drop me a line

hi ,im am not new to deisels,i am a H.G.V. teck but i reciently got stuffed in a deal with a MAREA td100,i intend to keep this as it is ideal to use for sea fishing,i have changed the cam-belt,oil/fuel/air filters. to get the motor running i put the fuel system on a 1 gallon can, it ran with only the smallest derv knok, i then changed the fuel filter (what a mess)full of red!!! and slurry, next came the AIR filter, black and not a nice item. however since the tank has been off and cleaned and real derve put through the system the motor refuses to start, i have pure derv in both the filter/pump, but the pre heat has started to click in and out straight away...P/S i only was given a blue KEY with this car!!!!! any IDEAS !!!!!
