On your vehicle I would start by looking at the battery fusebox, which is clamped to the battery positive terminal. The battery is located under the floor of the cab.
Just read your second post. Why not put your switch in the connection to the starter solenoid instead of in the main cable? Much smaller switch and wiring required.

The obvious place is the ignition switch. (It may be too obvious.) On my earlier vehicle (2006 x244) it is the red/black wire at pin 3 of the 3 way connector at the switch. Pin 1 red wire of the same connector is the main battery supply to the switch. However there may be differences on more recent vehicles.
I suggest that you download and study eLearn for the x250, which is available in the downloads section, but consists of several, compressed .rar files. I have not found the need to make this download for myself, but the following link may help.
