So been bored on lockdown, I've decided to do a service on my 1997 1.9td Fiat Ducato. Change air filter, fuel filter, oil change and oil filter as well as remove oil sump, clean and will be treated rusty areas priming and spraying to help protect for a few more years life. Changed rocker cover gasket and got new gasket for sump.

Anyways while completing these jobs I noticed an orange wire which was loose not connected to anywhere, by the looks of it it had corroded and broke off. But not sure where. I have removed all the plastic conduit protection and tape to investigate further. It comes from the loom that supplies the coolant temperature switch in the thermostat, a connection which plugs In diesel pump and wiring to another plug next to the injectors, glue plugs etc. But it looks as though somebody in the past as messed around with the wiring as there are 3 orange wires possibly even red colour which as faded over time. 2 come out if the coolant temperature switch and are connected to this other orange wire. They was twisted together and covered with a heat shrink tube which I've removed.

I've added some pics and hope somebody will be able to tell me the correct route if this wiring. I've checked various fiat Ducato wiring schmetics but not had any luck.

Quite possibly something to do with the motorhome conversion. You need to find the other end of each wire to determine what it does, then it might make some sense.

If the motorhome manufacturer still exists, ask them.

Next question will be, 'what's not working?'.
