Hi
Tried fitting one to my 2007 2.2 Ducato. The bracket with four bolt holes fits over the four holes in the underside of the van. I've tried every size bolt I can find, but none fit...m7 screws in but comes out when winding the wheel up. Any ideas?

I fitted one to my 2011 motorhome which was not designed to accept the wind up mechanism, I simply used 4 inch bolts, side to side through the whole bracket.

Does your crossmember actually have threaded holes?

I’ve just realised this isn’t my MH it’s a picture off the net, I can’t find mine, but you get the idea.

Hi
My van should accept the carrier. Six holes in all..all line up with the carrier. The four in question look as if they have threads...not easy to see though. That bracket you have looks like the answer...did you make it yourself?
Thanks for your response

Have you tried M8 Fine, that is M8 with 1mm pitch? I came across this when using tapped holes at the front of my x244 to secure an engine support beam, used when changing timing belt. (M7 coarse/normal is 1.0mm pitch.)

Yes they do have threads - M8 I think
Must be clogged up. I'd try cleaning them out with an M8 tap (or bolt with a groove down the side like a tap) to clear the muck out.

Reg 65,

Please for your benefit read my post above.

Tapped holes are probably M8 FINE (1mm pitch), and not M8 (1.25mm pitch).

As I said this is what I found at the front of my 2006 x244.

Thanks for the advice guys, The holes are going to get a clean today and I've got m8 fine bolts arriving tomorrow. Hope this resolves the problem. It's dragging on a bit now after realising the winder hexagonal piece of the Jack kit didn't fit the unit, as it is five sided .Solved that problem. The joys of owning a van, hoping to start a campervan conversion soon.
Thanks again for the advice everyone.

Hi
Thanks everyone for your help. The M8 fine bolts did the job...the carrier is fitted and solid.
So happy
