Just purchased a Hymer B584 Motorhome based on a Ducato 2.5D 1995

First thing for me to fix is the Low Fuel Light being constantly ON!

The fuel gauge seems to be working fine . . . but the low fuel warning light just stay on all the time the vehicle is running/ignition is on

Have searched this forum and seen answers to other issues with fuel gauges on later Ducatos I'm guessing it is a wiring connection or controller issue rather than the tank sender

But on a 1995 2.5 diesel model where would I find the potentially suspect gauge controller?
Behind the dash?
Under the bonnet?
Near the fusebox?

searching the Tin-Ter-Net for similar problems on other vehicles . . .

I suspect it could be a little pcb comparator circuit in the dashboard that triggers the low fuel light to switch on at a certain value from the fuel level sensor

Suggestion on a Merc Forum was if you drive around with low fuel and the low fuel ON for too long this pcb comparator circuit gets burnt out . . . so the low fuel light then stays constantly ON
