if you google were is IAT sensor located might prove helpful

so you dont know either eh ? thanks for that - very useful that - who knew eh

It would help to know the year and engine of your van

But the intake air temp is usuallly monitored by the map/maf sensor's

thank you, thats exactly what im try to find out,
its a 2006 new shape 2.3 130bhp ducato motorhome

fiat does not know, so im wondering whether the iat is located on the manifold or incorporated in the maf, a garage tried 2 mafs without success, but they were cheap ones and not the bosch one, thr part no for the maf as given by fiat is 71794087

I believe that the x250 has a Integrated Air Temperature and Absolute Pressure Sensor [MAP] sensor.

if that's your attitude. in future try else were for your info. as it happens I researched your problem found the answer 100% was going to post, but having read your reply as far aas im concerned you can hang in the wind and I hope others follow my example ;

IAT could be fine but covered in grot from poor egr, cleaning it might be sufficient. If it is caked then the entire intake probably is too.

well, if your definition of helping is saying google it, i can probably cope without your help. I also researched it on google before coming here. perhaps i was hoping for something more informed like others posted. All in all, should i find myself on "who wants to be a millionaire" i cannot guarantee i will use you on "call a freind" :)

Thank you gentleman, i agree with all concerned, its either on the manifold or the maf, nobody is too sure, least of all fiat, I SUSPECT the answer is both at differing times. I am also unsure as to where to take it as while there are plenty of fiat car dealers, Fiat dealers that know about vans are like rocking horse do do as i found out when GOOGLING, and calling dealers who went very glassy eyed when i mentioned the Ducato.

The link with the picture I posted is definitive. It is taken from the Ducato training manual

MAP sensors are always located directly on the intake manifold, where they monitor changes in manifold pressure.

thank you very much !! :)
YOUR A STAR !

update.
a strange but true. i did some research and found a fella with the same problems and diag results as me p101 and p111 but on another fiat. he replaced the maf and egr before noticing his reversing lights didnt work any more. he then found the fuse for the reversing lights also supplied power to the maf. weird but true. he changed the fuse and his reversing lights worked..
and his maf after a diag reset worked..
so guess what.. my fuse had also blown and i had been through 2 mot's without anybody noticing my reversing lights dont work, and now my maf works and after a reset my emg has gone out and no fault codes .. bloody hell..
so there you are. fixed. :slayer:
