1999 Ducato 2.8 Rapido motorhome .
MyTruma C6002 water heater has stopped working, on gas and 230v. I select either 50 or 70 degrees after a few seconds it clicks on but after about fifteen seconds it clicks out again and will not stay switched on.
The second problem is no charge to the engine battery when connected to the mains. I press button one on control panel to check charge rate but it only reveals battery voltage as 12.4v confimed by power at cigar lighter, I start engine which charges at 14.4v. I press button one on panel and it shows charging at 14.4v.
Hoping the experts out there can help me.

You are probably better off to ask this question in a campervan/motorhome forum like 'Out and About' in their Motorhome Matters Forum. Lots of expertise there who will help you.

have you checked reset button on truma also make sure the system is full and their are no airlocks as it will do as indicated. re charging to engine battery when on mains the charger will only charge when the battery is below norm, and the engine will charge both batteries when running through the split charge system. from the info given sounds ok to me.

Check the anti frost valve hasn't popped in this recent cold weather. If so, reset it.
It may have dropped all the water out and keep dropping it out so trips the heater off?

I agree with sminch make sure there is water going to heater the reset button should be checked also i had similar problem on my carver and it was air fill the tank with water open the hot tap and let it run clear close and do the cold tap then close, and switch on the heater,it should be okay after a few moments turn on the hot tap.

Regarding the charging problem, make sure the charger itself is switched on, usually a switch on top of the unit. Re, charging vehicle battery by the 240 charger, it depends what set up the motorhome has.

Regarding your charging problem, it is quite likely that your engine battery is not intended to be charged from a 240 volt hookup on this model of motorhome, only the Leisure battery(ies). You need to ask on a Motorhome Forum as advised.

The best way around that is to fit a solar panel with a dual charge controller after the solar regulator.
