New to this and very little mechanical knowledge so a little 'slow'.
I have a 02 Hymer Camp Swing motorhome based on Fiat Ducato 2.8jtd and driving on motorway a few weeks back gearbox failed catastrophically.
Garage says 5th gear housing corroded and oil leaked leaving 5th dry, hence problem. They were unable to identify gearbox until they removed it and then found that these were obsolete so sent original box away for recondition. Housing was brazed to try and make suitable repair.
Box returned and fitted but still dripping from the housing so not really usable. I need a new 5th gear housing but garage not able to locate one. Can anyone help please.
Thanks, Peter.
