Hi i have a 2007 2.3 mutijet van and the reverse lights stopped working the fuses are ok and the bulbs ok so could it be the reverse light switch? Where on the gearbox is it located and is it an easy fix , thanks for any help Jason Trevor

Hi,
easiest thing is probably bump the van's feft front wheel up onto a high keb , and have a look at the REAR of gearbox ( start of passenger footwell),
there should be an electrical connection up the back / towards the top,

break / clean and remake the connection..see what happens,

Charlie

It is on the top of the gear box and easy to get at if the air filter housing is removed

Spot on mate.Thought that was where it was and you are right.Had touble getting new reverse camera to work and eventually narrowed fault down to switch.Only had to jiggle plug about a bit to get it working again.Cheers.

Yep on top of gearbox okay noticed my camera had stopped working thought it was the camera but then getting ready for the annual TEST the reverse lights and beeper were not working tested the fuse and manual said 7.5 amp but there was a 30amp there but it was fine changed to 15amp then removed rear lens and no power at lamp! so decided must be switch and found it here! fairly buried as I am elderly 75+ tried to get a garage to do it but all booked up for 6 weeks ! Bit the bullet and got switch from main dealer and found my long 22mm socket a doddle to remove it but check first by joining wires on loom to confirm switch is the problem. Job done about 40 mins remove top of air filter to gain better access. Hope this helps guyz.
