Good morning campers,

I have bought a autoroller camper on Fiat 1.9JTD unit. We went away for the firsttime this weekend.Everything seemed fine until we hit a incline.
The temp gauge went up to about three quarters then dropped back down when on level or downhill. At one point Ithouht Iwas going to have to stop to let it cool down. Is this normal or do I have a problem with thermostat or radiator . Any help would be much appreciated.

Did the fan kick in? Wouldn't worry about it too much though, if the vehicle was heavy with people and luggage then quite normal. It cooled down on the flat so the water is doing its job.

Thanks for reply,

Yes fan did kick in and carried on running for a while when engine stopped.
Coolant level is ok. If I run engine at home it seems fine. It would seem as if it just when it hits a bank,so I will check thermostat tomorrow maybe put a new one on.

Coolant change will be cheaper and easier if its not been done recently. Sounds good to me. Fan running after engine off means the temp sensor is working ok. Keep an eye on her though and quickest way to cool her down after the fan is to put the cabin heater on full with the windows down.
