Hi there - Can anyone provide any information on the Cambelt timing marks on a Fiat Ducato 130 Multijet (57 reg) I have a strong feeling that it may have jumped a tooth after being started in a heavy frost(belt has turned orange with rust stains)Usual problem of water running all over engine when it rains and think it has froze. Thanks Scott.

Hi

This job requires timing tools 2 cam locks in cam cover and crank pin behind timing belt cover next to bottom pully. Normally if it jumps a tooth it will bring on the eml light for cam and crank sycronisation.:)

Hi again thanks for the reply - The fault code p0016 is stored on the ecu and when cleared comes straight back on, but I know the crankshaft sensor is working because when it is unplugged the engine runs rough - having looked into this it could be possible to have jumped a tooth due to water freezing onto the bottom pulley - Fiat have been contacted but are reluctant to admit a water ingress fault but as many of you already know it comes in torrents in the engine bay when it rains Scott.

Your timing belt possibly jumping a tooth due to frozen water in the belt etc, appears to be yet another ongoing potential problem - along with another previous post of water in the throttle body motor assembly & "rusted in" injectors for X250 owners all as a result of Fiat "failing" to fix the water ingress problem from the windscreen scuttle on the X250 models.

:(Hi! Ducato is with the navigation of water for me my problem. The engine got ruined totally , because frozen the water onto the fan belt and she's gone.the valve rockers broke into pieces. The car ran hardly on 2 year ones, but nobody can help. The fiat does not recognise it away the problem.
You can help possibly, how I shall turn where for help? Thanks!
