I have a motorhome based on a LHD German 1993/K Fiat Ducato ?? (aka Talbot Express in UK), the engine in it says Fiat on the top but intrestingly Iveco is cast into one of the manifolds (and as far as I know, this is how it left Fiat). It's a 2.5 turbo diesel.
It's very slow to warm up, to the point that it doesn't really in this weather, so I suspect that the thermostat needs changing. My only problem is where the thermostat is located?
The obvious place would seem to be where the radiatior top hose enters the engine, but at first glace the casting there doesn't appear big enough to house a thermostat.
Does anybody have a Ducato with this engine and can tell me where the thermostat is?
Also, as my local motor-factor doesn't stock this part (and will charge £17 just to get one in for me) and can't get a gasket even then... can anybody recommend somewhere that I can get both thermostat and housing gasket by mail-order (either via phone or online) at a sensible price?
