Re: FF Guide to the Doblo (Problems + Solutions) - Your Input Please :)

IT WORKS
Like others I have had a problem with the rear screen getting all the water and sh**e off the road, on my dobby,
Ripping the rear wiper blade to shreds in the rain with all the crud
So with a little ( note little) bit of thinking decided that an airfoil to alter the turbulance over the rear screen might be in order.
So looking around for a wing type thingy spotted a palm rest from my computer keyboard,
Into the workshop pete, Found a peice of plastic to make the suport with, about 40mmx20mmx15mm, cut and shaped it to have a bit of bling-wow factor,
using sticky foam tabs these were attatched to the wing
And with a coat of black spray paint on, was looking very technical and expensive,
Well this bit of sh**e , sorry kit was installed on the rear, above the rear stop light on the roof, bearing in mind that it had to clear the door when openedagain using sticky foam tabs, Sorted
Over the last few weeks, 1000 miles, in the rain and spray off the motorway rural roads I have found that the window stays much clearer without the crud,
Suprisingly it has not come off,
So my problem may be solved on a permenant basis,
One advantage is the extra downforce keeping the rear end glued to the road, Got to keep an eye on tyre wear now, lest I soon will have slicks
Will find a way of getting some photo's on here somehow?,
Try it it does work

Hi Rich
No, use sticky tabs, double sided and just line it up to the front edge of the tailgate making sure it don't foul the roof, when you open tailgate,
A further design is in the process of construction, made from makrolon plastic, and will be twice this length, and see through
regards
pete

Ah, yes, sorry, you did say that in your op. I'm not paying attention as usual .

A longer, clear version sounds even better as this version might make people think you're a boy racer...maybe not in a Doblo though

Help me about Gas Tank can

Dear all,
Someone stole my tank can few days ago, I did come to the service here in Vietnam, however they hadn't got the can with keylock inside, even a place to take the key. I really want to buy one, coz' there is a lot of thieves here. You know there only one way to keep this. So plz help me. Actually I've got a friend in Italy, just not sure whether he know about it or not.
By the way my car is Doblo ELX 1.6 , serial 2002.
Thank first guys.

One reason I brought the Doblo was because it is an essentially simple car and home maintenance should be possible. The frustration now is the lack of basic pointers when repairing and maintaining the car. At the moment the Doblo population is still relatively young with many vehicles still under "warranty". As time goes by this will change and owners will be more interested in maintaining and repairing without support from FIAT. They will need a little help, I think.

My top tip is to cut a hole in the engine undertray so that you can access the oil filter without taking the tray off. This halves the time taken to change the oil and replace the filter. I made up a small aluminium plate which is secured over the hole with with four 6mm stainless screws.

Let us all know what support you would like with this idea. I am sure there are plenty of people who will contribute
wot was the problem with the egr valve and how did you fix it .Im having problems with slow or non existant revs when cold

Question Re: FF Guide to the Doblo (Problems + Solutions) - Your Input Please :)

Hello I'm new on here and am looking for some help I have a Doblo Cargo van, I bought it second hand and it did not have an owners manual with it. The problems I have are relatively simple if you have the book or the knowledge but I have neither!!!!

Does anyone have a diagram to tell me what fuse does what please my reversing lights do not work I have checked the bulbs they are ok. My Window washer pump does not spray and I thought this might also be a fuse problem.

Any help would be appreciated, Cheers in advance

Jane

Re: FF Guide to the Doblo (Problems + Solutions) - Your Input Please :)

Hello,
I'm new here.I have a '02 Doblo Van 1.9L . There's 68,000 mls on the clock. The problems are that the engine shudders like crazy and it's very smoky. It doesn't cut out but i wonder will that happen in the colder winter months.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Regards,
Pedro9.

Re: FF Guide to the Doblo (Problems + Solutions) - Your Input Please :)

Just a quick question has any one changed the belt that does the oil filter/power steering (dolbo gargo 1.9D) as mine snapped a few hours ago if so how hard is it to put the new one on? is it just a case of slackening a few bolts? Thanks madrab.
