Hi,

Had my 1.3 doblo recovered last night.

Due to the lack of diesel available I used a Jerry can of the diesel from work that we take out of vehicles at the end of lease before they get sent back.

As soon as I pulled away it took off like a rocket. I stalled it after about 5 seconds of it running away then got it recovered .

I’m really apprehensive about starting it up again incase I can’t stall it.

Is there anything I can do before I start it ?

Thankyou

I'd get the intake pipework taken off to check for oil or anything else that could be getting sucked in to cause it to runaway
As it must be getting extra fuel /oil from somewhere to run like that

Is there any chance the fuel you added from a jerry can was petrol? Or contaminated with petrol?

How much fuel was in tank before you added fuel from jerry can? How much did you add from jerry can?

That’s what I’m thinking, the tank was empty and I used one full Jerry can. It happened straight away so I think there must of been some petrol contamination.

If I could get diesel from a station I’d get some to try and clean it up but you can’t get any around here atm

If you have break down cover that covers you for misfueling get them to totally drain the system and sort it out.

Hi,

when it comes to Diesels, especially if they are Multijets, you should consider that there's some amount of Diesel in your oil. Theoretically, petrol cracks in a Diesel engine before it can explode. But together with oil-Diesel fog which is been inhaled maybe can intensify such an explosion.
My first hint is: Change your oil, and start again.

Good luck
