Hi guys.

I recently broke down in my doblo, the AA recoverd me and on further inspection told me my master clutch cylinder had broken. Basically the plastic arm that connects the to clutch pedal had snaped off.

So I replaced the master clutch cylinder yesterday, i bled the system like this forum explained. But I still have no clutch. It will not go into gear at all. Any other suggestions please. I'm at a total loss. Many thanks.

Hi. Thanks for taking the time to respond. I done it the old school way. 1 person pushing pedal and me bleeding the system via the nipple .

So after a check.. literally nothing is happening when the engine is running. No lever movement, no gear change etc. Soon as the engine is off we have gear lever and gears moving. I cannot work it out. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

The only thing I can consider is the vacuum (with engine running )
is stopping function

Its not a job Ive done..

Does it have vac effect.. for 'servo assistance'..?

Is the brake pedal feeling 'normal'..?

Not too familiar with Doblos, usually working with Pandas, however...
Only thing that makes sense to me is that the snapped master cylinder rod was actually a result of failed pressure plate/ release bearing/clutch fork.

I see your point.. (but Op. Didnt seem to feel anything failing..)

But wouldnt that be 'broken' irrespective of motor running ?

Should select gears anyway

Yep, it probably would, and I could be barking up the wrong tree. (Or maybe just barking. I blame the lockdown)

Can't see what else could cause it though (well, not on a Panda but could be a more complex set-up on a Doblo, I guess - never had a clutch failure on one yet!)

How I read it...
Can't select gears with engine running
Can select gears with engine off
Clutch pedal can go up and down, but seems to not disengage clutch.

Only time I've seen that was where the clutch pressure plate fingers had failed, or the clutch fork had failed. Both needed gearbox off to investigate further, so I'm definitely up for other suggestions.

I suppose..

You could lift the slave cylinder off the g.box

Cobble up some rig so you are Pushing with the slave.. but not driving the clutch arm

Then you will see if pedal is operating correctly.. with feel
And have taken all possible load from clutch operating mechanism..
