Spent a 3\4 hour this morning replacing the wiper drive arms, 2 new Wipex arms + those springy things on Ebay hope that is the last time I ever do them.
The reason for the clippy thing is both balls on shafts are worn\ rust pitts so a bit belt & bracers
Phoned Wipex 1500 BST on Monday bits delivered 1st post Tuesday Good service (y).
Their service has been good when the other 2 we owned gave the same problemhave no connection other than satisfied customer.
The only thing with that job is to check wiper shafts for free play, all the ones I have done have been STIFF to say the least, it is an easy job to strip & clean them, watch for the little clip & there should be an O ring .
The sequence is clip out, washer, O ring, push out shaft there is another washer, cup seal, clean rust \ dirt off I try to fill housing with grease & re assemble as said about 3\4 to 1 hour with no rush
The motor assembly comes out with 3 x 6mm bolts after removing wiper arms & left hand plastic trim 5 self tappers (the one on the pillar different size head WHY:cry:)

I have terrible free play on my linkage, the clips might have helped but the wipers still whack the scuttle panel and fly past the windscreen. I'll be looking at replacing the whole linkage rather than spend on repair, around £30. Is there a difference between left and right hand drive? It should work on either.

The ball rusts \ wears on one side have a good look it is a really simple system it comes out of the van easy the shafts assembly's also wear.
Again Cheap build, ours either worked or the the 2 new operating dodahs cured the problems, the clips stop the new bushes falling off if the ball is worn.
The Shaft assembly's don't help! but never had the wipers hitting or going over the edge, & we run slightly longer blades than original
I think the complete assembly was well over £120.
I have bored the die-cast bits & bushed them but that is altogether another job :chin:
