Hi all....
Right,so after leaving my 1.4 petrol Doblo parked on the drive for a couple of months,I decided to see if there was still life. Obviously not.....battery flat as a whotsit ! (no surprise,I suppose.
Now, I hooked it up to my trusty Rover 45 (behave !!! lol....),to charge up the battery enough to start the Doblo. The engine turns over o.k. but just will not start ! Any ideas as to what's up with that, please ?? Could it be the immobiliser that's still on or some other quirk of Doblo's that's preventing it starting ??
Anyone ??

I don't know,as I don't have a multimeter..... I'll take the battery off and get it checked/charged up,if it's o.k. .... See what happens from there....

a multimeter is a very good tool to invest in as it can help in many situations and they can be purchased for around £10

So......I bought myself a new battery charger and gave the Doblo's battery a really good charge. I also checked the terminal connections and discovered that the positive (red) terminal wasn't gripping the battery pole as well as I thought it should......So I fettled that and added another washer behind the nut,so that it clamped up tightly. Wire brushed both terminals and the battery poles.
Fitted it all back together and guess what......fired straight up !! So it was probably a couple of different problems, causing the non start.
* I have noticed that the earth terminal has a 'quick release' terminal clamp (which I've never noticed before...doh!), so now the earth terminal clamp will be left off, until I want to use the car/start the engine !
