Starting a thread for no real reason as my 54 plate Cargo has just gone past 190,000 miles, and is still going strong. Using no oil, decent power, good fuel economy on a run. OK, it has its little "wobble trick" to get ignition key to turn, but I have mastered that and consider it an anti-theft feature now... (y)

Gave it a good kicking over Exmoor the other evening (my usual trackday car was in for repair work so couldn't be too enthusiastic....) and it took everything in its stride. I was tracking out a route for a social drive for my local RoSPA advanced drivers group. :slayer:

You must have gone through some exhausts and front tyres in 190'000 miles .my 2003 doblo has only done 43'000 miles and needs new front tyres at 5_7 k and typical exhaust life is 18 months . I once paid over £200 for a genuine main dealer cost part that rotted in 18 months so now I buy the £30 e bay specials and they last just as long.

Yep your right mate, they are great cars really robust, surprised me how solid mine felt not having had a fiat since my rotten fiat 127 in the in the late eighties, always remember the drivers window mech was knackered and the glass fell through the the bottom of the rotten door when it dropped down.

Anyway I digress, we just did another trip to Somerset 762 miles at around 46 to the gallon AND survived incredibly as half way to birmingham a large block of concrete fell off a lorry and typically we went into it, very scary, the steel wheel totally destroyed new tyre broken open but thanfully we survived and thanks to a fantastic set of welsh guys working on the free recovery area in the 50mph workzone we got on our way 2 hours later, typically my teenage daughter in the back didnt notice anything, sat with her headphones on in the back!!!.

Only thing I need though is Cruise for those long journeys, but its so prohibitively expensive to justify for a 12 year old vehicle, 1.9jtd 04 I thinkits an 8 valver, 104k so far. Neil.

I only bought it 5 or 6 months ago and so far only had to put in a H7 bulb. I've only put on about 1500 of those 190,000 miles :D

Sounds like you had a pretty luck escape, doblo is pretty tough though, I have the petrol one ,never liked diesel, dont understand how they work.
Likewise I had a 127 special in the 1980s YMB471S long gone now though.
