Our 2008 1.4 8v Doblo let us down for the first time this afternoon.

Engine turns over fine. No suggestion that it might fire up. The Breakdown service guy could find no codes, fuses ok, no obvious faults. He thought that the fuel solenoid might be stuck shut.

So we are being recovered to our local independant in the morning. Bugger!!!!

Well, how embarrassing! I should have read page 69 of the 2008 Dobló owner’s manual. All that was needed was a reset of the fuel cut-off switch which is behind the trim just down from the A-pillar.

The mystery is why it tripped in the first case. My wife is not one for bouncing the car up and down kerbs. However, we are infested with pot holes locally.

Fella I know runs an independant garage that has got a contract with local Royal Mail to maintain their fleet of vans. Part of the fleet is Fiat Doblo's and he's loving it. He said he's lost count of the times he's done the easy fix of pushing the fuel cut off switch after the Pat's have bumped them up the kerbs.:)
