hi, im looking a the doblo for my next company vehicle, the practically side is a big selling point for me i was wondering if anyone could help with the following questions?

1, there is talk about the max weight speed limits is the 1.9 105 dynamic affected by this?

2, what are they like to drive, i will be averaging 25000+ per year

3, is the 50mpg attainable or marketing talk? (i was also looking at the prius but the mpg is way off by all accounts)

4, does the boot have a cover to hide valuables when parked etc

5, what is the fire system fiat list as a safety feature?

6, is the stereo any good, does it handle mp3's

any help to the above would be great.

I'm pissed and busy now, so I'll have top get back later.

But: you know there is a whole new model coming at the end of the year... no?

i will order shortly for next march so it would be the new model whatever that is like?

Where can we find out more about the new model please?

this is about the best I could find

new Doblo

as for the questions;

1) only the vans are affected. The 2 tonne law only applies to commercial vehicles

2)I think they're very good to drive, comfortable over a long distance.

3) It is with the 105 but not with the 120

4) Yes, might be an optional extra though, but I've seen them in the showroom.

5) No idea

6) Mine was a cassette player but it's 3 years old now so maybe Fiat offer a CD player as standard now, don't know.

New Doblo:

It might be a Fiat version of the new Citroen Berlingo. However, I have studied some photos and I won't swear to that, in fact it may well be a stand alone Fiat vehicle.

It will have a 1.6 Diesel, and a 1.3, but not the 1.9 as far as I have read.

It will also have coils at the back instead of the present leaf springs. Sorry, but that's all I know for sure.

It should be launched at Frankfurt in September.

Have just acquired a new 1.9 105 active myself, the estate not the van.
Car only just covered over 1k have used brim fill method to verify the mpg. Justover 300mile run each way on French motorways. 42mpg one way, 47mpg return at steady 75/80 mph. So 50mpg+ possible I reckon when engine loosens up. Runs smoothe as silk, very pleased.
My buying mantra is - don't buy the MK 1 of anything. The new dobbie might look interesting on paper but do you really want to act as test bed for Fiat?
Sure, old dobbie has faults but these are known to members on this forum. The new one will be an entirely unknown quantity. Reliability for me would be a prime consideration, especially if I was driving 25k + per annum and as using as a company vehicle.
I also reckon you'll be able to get some hefty discounts on a new old dobbie, the new one will sell at a premium price, so will the parts and the servicing.
The radio in mine came with CD as standard with 6 speakers. Can't advise on MP3 though. Worst fault I've found on the car so far is that the sunvisors are pretty hopeless. Still think old dobbie is the best value MPV on the market. Hope U find my first post of use!
