I have a 1.9D (not JTD) and trying to think ahead when its due servicing.

Was thinking of doing this.....

Every Year Service / 10,000 miles (whatever comes first)
Oil & Filter Change - Every Six Month / 5000 miles (whatever comes first)
Then back to yearly service and so on etc

Does that sound about right?

For A STANDARD DIESEL. Fiat specify an oil an filter every 6,000 miles or 6 month and a full service at every 12,000 or 12 month. If Vehicle is in stop/start situations then oil and filter should be changed more regular.

When you say stop/start, how do you mean?

Lots of short runs and urban driving as opposed to it getting good runs on open roads. Plays havoc with the oil.

Would this be the same for a 1.6 stilo petrol?
