My Doblo (1.9jtd) is now three years old (a couple of weeks ago).
The stamps in the service book tell me that apart from the PDI it has had the following services.
1st Service - 6 months old 6400 miles
2nd service - 11 months old 11000 miles
3rd Service - 2 years old 19500 miles

I'm assuming it is now due a service. It's now done 28000 miles so won't be due one on milage, but on age. Is this right? Also should it be the 36000 mile service?

Should I get it seviced at a Fiat Garage? If I use an independent garage will they be able to reset the service light. On the issue of the service light - when will it come on? Will it be 12000 miles after the last service (ie 31500 miles) or at the next service interval (36000 miles).

We're off on our once a year trip around France in three weeks. I expect to cover about 3000 miles so a service/oil change is pretty important before we go.

Lastly, can anyone make a recommendation for a garage to do the service in the Wolverhampton/ Dudley area.

Certainly due a service. You have rather rushed the earlier ones as they should be done every 12,000 miles or 12 months.
As it is 3 years old, it should be done. Local garages often have, or have access to, a computer that can reset the body computer. Simply ask them. Worth doing, my local bloke charges £40 and hour, the dealer £89.50. Also the local garage will generally charge time spent, where the dealer will use the Fiat official time, regardless of how quickly it is finished. Of course they will charge extra if it takes longer!!

Thanks for that, I'll start ringing round. I've only owned the car since september. I bought it off an ex Fiat mechanic which probably explains the extra service at 6 months old.

do a service your self... will cost about £60 max, and it will be better quality gear that a garage use :) only thing which wont be good is the service light will be on, usually easy to put out tho, a small garage would probably do it for a tenner or something.

I have just carried out a service on a 1.9 multijet van and was shocked at the cost of the fuel filter. I bought the cabin filter but am having problems finding the filter even with the picture supplied with the cabin filter which was for a grande punto. In the doblo handbook it shows the left hand drive and shows a arrow behind the glove box but no matter how hard i look or try to view. I cannot see where the filter goes.
can any one help me?
hopefully if you have a picture?
its the doblo 1.9 d multijet van on a 06 plate.
thanks Vinny
