i have just purchased a 2002 doblo and it has a few niggy problems just wondering if someone could help, first off on start up the heaterplug light flashes for couple mins, dont no if this is normal or not,2nd this one is quite irratating when changing gears the revs are staying quite high, there is no engine management light satying on or anything and tbh ive never really driven a doblo but it feels quite sluggish as apposed to my brothers scudo which i beleive is same engine, thanks for any help, dave

The glow plug light staying on and flashing usually means that there's either something wrong with one of your glow plugs or something else is wrong that when plugged into a diagnostic computer it will tell you. Someone else may have a better idea about this.

Secondly how do you mean the rev's stay quite high? Do they not drop quickly when you take your foot off the accelerator?

Thirdly if you've got a 2002 then you've probably got the 1.9D... these won't go fast. The Scudo's with the 2.0JTD and Doblo's later with the 1.9JTD engine are flying machines.

Three of the four glow plugs come out fairly easily,it's probably the reason that the light stays on for a while before going out.

thanks for all the info, the car is the 1.9 non turbo model, also yes the revs seem to stick beetween gear changes is this a common problem

I wouldn't say it was a common problem...

The rev's on my 1.9JTD Doblo don't drop very quickly in-between gear changes at all, they do however if you rev at a stand still. It hasn't really given me a cause for concern. If the revs stay at a particular speed then of course something is wrong, but if they drop slowly I wouldn't worry.

This of course helps on the turbo model as it keeps the turbo spinning for the next gear :)
