Well this is IMHO a very rare occurrence for a Fiat cylinder head. My last experience of this inter cylinder cracking between valve seats goes back to the Ford Cortinas of the 80s which were notorious for this defect and also cam shaft lubrication issues.

My initial thought is that you have one of those 1 in 100,000s (if not substantially more) that do get produced and fall through the quality control system. The other possibility is that at some time the engine has been run with no cooling and pushed too far resulting in excessive thermal stress which will always go for the weakest point at higher temperatures and that is between the valve seats.

which crack do you mean running without coolant
big one on the middle or the smaller one inside?

There is only one crack. It has progressed past the steel valve seat which has not cracked and is hiding part of the crack so it looks like two.
Do you know the history of these two engines? It's not an issue I've heard of before on Fiat or Vauxhall engines. It is known to happen on VAG engines, but I don't think it's that common.

dont know history, 1.9 had over 400k on clock, 2.4 had over 190k- probably rolled back few times

i wonder can that crack on 1.9 get repaired?

forgot to add, i sold that 2.4 head, and his old head had cracks between all valves, drinking antifreeze like crazy, but car still ran fine
