Iv just washed and polished my car using ice wash, then polished it with the same brand polish. Before i go any further id like to say iv used it before on my old yellow coupe and have had no problems.

This time tho on my new coupe[wine red] its took the shine off the bonnit. It looks dull and smudgey if you no what I mean. Only the bonnit , the rest of the car is fine. look at it from one angle and bonnit looks how it should, look from another and its not a good site.

I have two questions, one is this pernament or will it be ok after a few washs or use some couler and shine restorer?

Two, why has this happened as like i say iv use it on the same car but yellow before and its been fine?

Any advise would be great, im gutted its the first time I polished it since i picked it up. Was gonna put some pics up and everything:cry:

No, i hadnt started it for two days.

Bonnit hasnt been resprayed, couler would be slightly diffrent if it was a diffrent bonnit too.

Its cleared up a bit, maybe the rain helped and i went out for a half hour in too.

Still not how it shoul be tho?

I am changing from the ice liquid polish, im going back to the proper stuff.

Ice is good a s it easy to aply and you dont get the white reside.

But really it doesnt do a sgood job.

Whats the best polish or wax to use on a wine red coupe?

The best polish would be this:

http://monzacarcare.com/zymol-car-wax/zymol-ital-carnauba-glaze--wax/0/

Designed for Ferrari's :slayer: :worship: specifically for Italian cars in any shade of red. However, it's a bit expensive

I use a sealant on mine , Car lack

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sealants/carlack-68-nano-systematic-care-various-sizes-/prod_356.html

Then a coat of Collinite's 76s wax cos it's WELL HARD! lasts six months

http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/collinite-no-476s-super-doublecoat-auto-wax/prod_207.html

But mine is silver, it's hard to get a good wet look shine on my colour.

I take it your last post is a has a wrong link to the polish that and the solvents in collinite will remove most of the Carlac sealant

Op first thing to try is a wipe over with isopropyl alcohol to remove the Ice wax and see what your left with is it new to you? Have seen cars in the past which have been done with colour
Magic type products Which have been removed by car polishes and other car care products

Thanks for the insight, not sure what im changing too put i am changing.

No, all links are correct, the last link was to Collinite's Super Auto Double coat WAX. It gives excellent results when used with Car lack sealant first. Hence why I recommended it.

Going to have to use elbow grease again[lol]

I liked the ice liquid polish because its so easy and quick to apply, TBH tho its not as good as couler magic and most other brands that arent liguid.

Right, got myself some couler magic today.

Is it ok to put it on after I washed my car or do I need to strip th old polish off with something like what was menoined in one of the above posts?

Bare in mind that I havnt owned the car long and only used the ice once on it?

I have another little problem, Bought the turtle wax-couler wax plus which i thought was for all cars but iv just noticed that on the back it says BLENDS WITH ALL SHADES OF LIGHT RED.

My car is wine red, do you think its ok to use or have I bought the wrong one?

It comes in a bright red bottle same couler as the speed red coupes.

Oh well - here we are again!

Matt - ever tried that "Demon Shine" stuff? It does nothing at all. Can't understand how they can get away with that. (n)
