I've just bought a 16v with typical cambelt probs. The head is now off, valves sorted etc- but I cant find any info on retiming it.

On the old 8 (1970's) valve -2 marks on the cams were lined up with a pair of pointers, crank with a mark on the engine casing -but I cant find any such markings here.

Am I missing something -do I now need special ''Fiat'' tools etc?
Dont want to refit the head till I'm happy its right.

Advice welcome, please

I think the above link is for the 1.8 engine, not the 2.0 which you may have. Don't know whether this makes a difference, but would be good for confirmation of whether it is right or not.

Cheers,

James

The 1.8 has a cam variator the 2 litre 16V doesn't, so the 1.8 blocks won't work.

I am sure the 16V has marks for setting the cam timing.

Try asking the question over on FCCUK (y)
