Hi,
I put my K&N Indutcion Kit in on Sunday afternoon. It's great, felt a difference straight away! Got rid od my flat spots.

Anyway... Now I have noticed that when I first turn the car on, the radiator fan comes on for a while. Obviously the car isn't hot as it's just been started... Any idea's why it'll be coming on?

When I put the kit in there was a screw to put into the Brown lead that was under the air box, which I did. But, there is also a black lead that was connected next to it... What was I meant to do with that? The K&N instructions don't mention it.

Thanks

P.S What are the brown and black leads for?

the leads that you speak of are vacuum pipes, in the airbox (now replaced with the K&n) theres a thermostatic switch that operates at low temperatures. The black lead from the switch goes to a black thing next to the passenger side headlight. Inside the thingy, it has a flap that alternates between allowing hot/cold air though.

In short, the black lead is no longer needed, therefore you can remove it along with the little "thingy" it connects to.

Hope that makes sense:p

Ok... I think I get that.

Why did I need to put a screw on the end of the brown one? Was it just to make it air tight?

what does that brown lead do? does it make a difference if you use it without the screw?
