The Cinq sporting needs its rear wheel bearings changed due to them whinning like hell and quite alot of movement when shaking the wheel by hand. The handbrake is non existant and the light in the dash also flickers on and off. The handbrake cable has been adjusted to the maximum setting so its time to replace those as well. While im doing this lot, i might as well change the drums and shoes at the same time.

This is the setup I have:-

ive read in the sticky thread that the linkages should be changed also. Are these number 2 in the eper link? Is there anything else that i should change also, number 12 (sheave) for example?

Cheers

the light in the dashboard for the handbrake is controlled by a little switch just underneath the handle

the light coming on could also mean low brake fluid, can be caused by low pads or fluid leak somewhere so check everything

Number two is the linkages, you could free them off and give them a little copper slip and save yourself some cash.

As for number 12 I wouldn't bother TBH.

Aslong as you get the correct cable you'll have a good working handbrake.

Good luck and cool screen name!

Thanks guys, I will be doing everything myself so for the sake of £12 from the sticky, i will get the linkages then.

lol thanks Liam, its the girlfriends cinq, but as my username suggests, i drive a Volvo V70 (estate) T5 with a few modifications :)
