A little side project of mine. I got a 1.6 8v out of an old punto from a mate an had a cinq front end. So I thought lets see if it fits?

And it fits pretty good

The gearbox is the same as a sporting so i could use the stock mounts.

I remember asking about fitting the 1.6 not long after I joined the forum. The general consensus was that it was too heavy up front for the amount of power it provided, and there were better options. That said, If you can do a thing then why should something like being sensible stop you? ;)

It's only a little more powerful than the SuperFIRE 1.2 16v, but a lot heavier and nowhere near as free revving. It was a wheezy old thing.

Amazed it can be done, even so. But wouldn't be my choice in a 'Cento.
