Hallo you lot!

Firstly yes, it's me off YouTube - heyya! :D

Secondly, the Super Seicento is indeed BACK and now ON THE ROAD!!! :slayer:

Thirdly, with the cosmetics gradually being done over winter, I'm thinking about power upgrades in the new year. Currently running the following spec:
1242 8V
866 Cam
42mm Ported TB
4-2-1 Stainless Manifold
High Flow Cat
Sportex Catback
Unknown Brand Cold Air Intake

Makes all the right noises and makes me grin like a madman, but I'd love a bit more POWWA. Naturally I've jumped to turboing the little beast and for its size, availability, affordability and general aftermarket support, the Subaru TD04 seems a good bet (comes on WRXs, Forester XTs and I believe some Legacies...?

If I were to run with the TD04, a few questions for those of you with turbo 8V experience:

  1. Would the standard WRX intercooler be sufficient? (front mounted)
  2. Which injectors would be best suited to around 120-130 @ the fly?
  3. Upgraded pump/fuel pressure reg presumably required? Suggestions?
  4. Assuming a stock Cento clutch would give out at this stage? Can anyone confirm rumours that a Stilo 1.4 16v/Panda 100HP clutch works, or is another upgrade preferable?

This is all off the top of my head atm - money, time, space and life generally would all be limiting factors, but as much prior info as possible would be greatly appreciated :D

Other than that, have a good one! ;D

Is your engine spi or mpi?

I would personally say a td04 would be too big. I run one on my starlet turbo and whilst I love it, the kick of a smaller turbo would be far more suitable, especially if you only want to run up to 150 bhp.

A standalone ecu would be your best investment for this project. It will most likely be the most expensive part too.

TD04 is way to big (even on the t-jet engines it only kicks in after 4k rpm)
The t-jet 120 hp turbo is good up to 140 hp.... it's pretty easy/cheap to find second hand (many people upgrade to the turbo from the 150hp t-jet)
Injectors- the ones from the t-jet: BOSCH 0280158167 (good up to ~190hp) (can get a full rail, regulator and injectors off ebay for 50-60gbp)

You would need a fuel pump.
You need a good ECU that is programmable...and can do turbo....the one in the t-jet is programmable... but might be difficult to get going in the seicento without the other modules...so standalone MS?!

In the end it would be cheaper, easier, stronger, more reliable to just fit a t-jet engine and electrics in to the Seicento.
Check out these guys, they you all the info you need:

Loose comments to the statements I see:

1. Read my thread.

2. Turboing 8V is much more fun than putting in t-jet. Putting in a t-jet is substantial enough work to warrant a serious power upgrade on the same occasion, running the stock t-jet 120/150 is pointless, 8V with 866 cam can easily do that with a moderately sized turbo. As for the "cheaper, easier, stronger" I can only agree with "stronger" ;) It's never cheap and it's never easy.

3. The t-jet ECU is runnable standalone, I now know that for sure, but requires deep knowledge and serious tweaking (hopefully there will be a project of this sort seeing the light eventually).

4. For the target numbers quoted TD04 is way too big.

5. I ran 190mm 1.2 16V clutch on my Cinq, was perfect for the 120hp with gentle treatment (no clutch shooting / aggressive shifting). There are two types of 1.4 16V clutches IIRC, one of them not so strong, but I do not remember the details.
