Its Italian, they love being thrashed.

No idea what revs they are doing at 70, but they will do much more (on autobahns, of course).

The 1.1 cinq and sei's sit at about 3800/4000 revs at 70ish (ahem), my old 900 must have been higher than that as i had to turn the radio louder :).

Thanks for that Alfacool-

I think I know the answer to this one- the 200cc capacity difference may make an enormous difference to the longevity of the motor at sustained higher revs.

Blast- I can't find the final-drive-ratios in the brochure from '97...

do you not have the diagnostics cables chap? only a few quid and get IAW Scan (its free!) - thought i was fine without for so many years and tbh 99% of the time I am, but its a super handy tool for stuff like this.

You are a bit far or i'd pop over with mine.

Thanks for the offer. I have the adaptor for OBD1 to OBD2, I'll look at getting IAW on my laptop and the last cable....

Once I've thrashed it!!!

for these i use a fiat 3 pin to OBD adaptor and a vagcom cable.

Have had great success with IAW Scan2 for all but the 18FD ecu (1.2 16v one), just never was able to connect to them for unknown reasons, its meant to me supported but aways failed for me.

Excellent work, thanks. Cable ordered, download may happen over weekend. I have a family free Sunday coming up....

Cheers
