Hello Chaps,

After selling my panda 100hp couple of years back the pull for a small fiat was strong! - So I bought a Cinquecento to take to lemans in France this year!

Seeing as its going on a long long journey I want to make sure its top notch and have spent a fair amount of time sorting little issues.

The speedo doesn't work, The car is a 98 R plate with the 1 piece cable. I sourced a good replacement 1 piece but then found a further issue.

The plastic speedo drive gear at the top of the gearbox that drives the speedo cable has snapped. Has anyone else had to replace this?

Picture for reference.

And one of the car ... just because.

Thanks all!

Yep, same problem other bit left behind should easily fish out when you undo one bolt on gearbox behind it from under the car. ....

Does the main part of the drive gear slide out of the top of the diff housing, through the cable hole, or is it extracted some other way?

What is the best method for extracting it? Is it a case of poking something through the 10mm bolt hole, or something else?

Thanks.

It can be fished out through the speedo cable hole once the keep plate has been removed
