Hi, as you know I am in the middle of cleaning up the front end of my cinq and im looking to upgrade my springs and shocks. It's going to be used as an everyday driving car but would like some feel to the road and bumps could any one point me in the right direction, with either to get coilovers or just up rated suspension??

Personally I would go with a set of Apex 35mm springs, best of both worlds. Lower, handles much better etc but it's not crashy and speed bumps still don't matter. Much lower and it's not so practical and no longer 'comfy' if you can call it that in a cento. It does look better, though.

Of course get a matching set of replacement or uprated shocks as lowering it will kill your current ones in a matter of miles. Personally I would recommend Monroe Reflex for uprated shocks and imo you're better off getting a well known brand of springs as they tend to be better quality.

Coilovers are available but a decent set will outweigh the value of the car and the rears won't have adjustable height.

It all comes down to your budget and exactly what you're after/willing to compromise.

What car?
899s benefit from sporting suspension upgrade, complete with anti roll bar.

If you have sporting stuff already, then a 35-40mm drop isn't to extreme. But it will be a lot firmer, but not crashy. Standard (sporting) shocks do still work and I haven't bottomed mine out yet.
I am in the process of fitting mine with poly bushes up front. Haven't had it on the road yet, but I have heard good things, so long as you go for red over yellow.

But as cento186 said, it is all compromise, handling over comfort, or comfort over handling.

If you only want a slight improvement, stick a new good quality set of shocks on and poly bush the front. You should still have change from a hundred quid and it will improve it no end.

a 35-40 drop on new, oe spec shocks will do the trick. Will make the ride stiffer but the new shocks will take a lot of the harshness off.

I'm on a 60/40 spax drop and fk shocks and the ride compared to my other cars is actually ridiculously soft! it's the softest riding car i own haha!

I personally don't feel the need for poly front.

As you could just buy new arms and they comes with new bushes and they will already be much better than your existing bushes.

But defo change the rear to poly!
