I'm trying to fit a new passenger window in my cinq, I have the Haynes manual so I've got the general idea of what to do but my car doesn't have a working battery/ignition system yet. Haynes says I need to raise/lower the window to fit the new one but I can't because they're electric. Any tips to get around this?!

Short answer is no. You need to be able to move the balls on the mechanism to get them into the runners. If you undo all the bolts that hold the mechanism in, and also the guides you might get enough movement, but them doors is a wee bit on the small size for much movement.

What if the window motor is knackered,how you going to raise/lower it then?
Must be enough movement as already stated to 'wiggle' it out

Just thought,on the motor itself stick a live & earth on it to raise lower/window or use a power probe.

use a spare battery, or charge the existin one, connect the wires off the window motor to your battery terminals, should do the job.

Interesting ideas, I need to buy a new battery anyway I think... the other one went flat about 6 months ago and I didn't charge it (no charger) so I guess its totally buggered by now.
