Hi, im after a manifold in near future. What possibilites are there. I may put a 1242 in eventually so dont want to waste money on a janspeed. So is super sprint the only other option or am i being blind? Also while im on the subject whats the best exhaust i can have or have made by to go with a 1242, to include decat...?

So to put it simply whats the best exhaust set up i can get. :)

On the forum here is somebody that's convert TB to 40mm from cinq 30 or punto 60 32mm. Tricker I Thought.

www.bielstein.com/FIAT/Cinquecento/cinquecento.html also sells 38mm cinq TB's

I appreciate the time you took to post, but i already know i can get a 40mm TB from tricker, i wanted to know if im best to have a manifold machined out to cope with an increased airflow?

Read previous posts and dont think il be getting a powerflow any more.

Looks like its supersprint all the way, and the clubcento discount may come in handy. :D

Yeah. The standard inlet manifold will happily accept a 40mm TB with no flow differences over standard. BUT, theres scope in the head to open the ports up to around 30mm diameter instead of the wimpish 20mm dia they are as std. That means more flow.

Matching exhaust manifold ports and manifolds isnt recommended as it can actually impede power gains!!

Cinq 1108 sporting Supersprint manifold fits with 1242 8v

Longlife can make me a manifold, but will cost £450, which isnt too bad for a full days work, but bit OTT for the gains i would get. So which manifolds can i get, just the old style supersprint?

Currently im planning on getting a supersprint manifold, with centre pipe and backbox. :)

Why will the revised supersprint manifold not fit the 1242, Am I right in thinking that it is not the stud pattern and the reason it will not fit will be due to clearance of the down pipe?

David

i dont know enough about it, but i am sure that it wont clear the sump like the janspeed one doesnt.... i dont kno y they are revising it, surely it would make more sence not to, they would prob get more business by keepin it the same!!!

thats is a damm good price for a custom manifold, however.... unless u tell them the down pipe needs to be 1cm longer to clear the sump when u fit your 1242 it will be a massive waste of money!

good luck gettin hold of an "old" style super sprint one as i dont think they are selling them anymore, not sure tho!

to be brutally honest, i have spoken to janspeed who said they can "modify" one to fit with the 1242, and they reccomend mild steel for the manifold as stainless ones are prone to cracking, and my local exhaust place has 10-15 stainless manifolds they have taken off this year with anythin from hairline cracks to mahoosive holes in them

p.s: wat u doin with your magnex back box? wats condition is it in? might be interested :chin:
