Hi
How easy is it to remove the engine bay wiring loom from a cinq sporting?
I was wondering because mine is quite scruffy and thought it would be nice to get another loom clean it up and recover it with conduit so when my engines out for the 1242 i could clean the bay refit the clean loom then fit the new cleaned and painted engine
Cheers
Adrian

The engine bay loom is in two parts. One for the engine itself which connects under the battery tray. The part it connects to, and the part that goes from the nearside bulkhead all the way round the front of the car is part of the car loom and has no connectors.

That loom looks so crummy, doesn't it? Like it's been wrapped by an amateur
with black fabric insulating tape? MAYBE there's a reason for the use of this type of tape? The loom does come out very easy when your doing an engine swap!. I feel that high quality vinyl insulating tape in fancy colours, applied on a warm day, would do the job. ( You could always apply it OVER the fabric tape if it is said to have functionality) Or even better, heat-shrink tubing which is available in a wide variety of sizes from Radio Spares. Have you seen what can be done inside COMPUTERS, nowadays!...David
