Hi mates,

I'm thinking of doing the 1242ccm engine swap in my car but I have a few questions that I couldn't find an answer through the search engine.
- my car has an A/C is it still "easy" to swap engines
- the cylinder head is slightly ported to match the infold and exhaust better. Can I use this head or the one from the 1242 engine

I don't think anyone here has done the 1242 swap with aircon

Pete has done the 1242 into the Cinq - and there is information, and comment on his site

My only comment would be - it looked full before , where is the room for the aircon to go?

Where's is the aircon unit? The only place I can think of is near the back of the engine bay next to the wiper motor. If that's the case I don't think the 1242 swap will be any different to the others done before.

I could be wrong though.

The only difference between 1108 and 1242 engines is the height of the block - the cam cover will be 10-15mm higher than it was on the 1108. If this won't interfere with the aircon setup, I'd say it should be fine.

Might make your aircon more powerful though

So the A/C should make no (or little) problems.

But ... can I use the 1108 cylinder head on the 1242 block (the seller just told me that he is only selling the block?

Umm not sure about the 1108 head on the 1242 but the aircon should'nt be a problem
