Afternoon,

We have bought a cheap Goodmans CD Player, as the car did not come with one.

Oohhh it has lots of wires !!

The cars own connector block has 6 points with 7 wires.
2 are for the left front speaker
2 are for the right front speaker
2 go into one point and one the other.

What are the other 3 ? Pos, neg and ????

The new radio has lost of wires.
8 speak wires - front and back.
memory ?
Electric aerial
Power.

Help.

The speakers and Electric aerial are obvious, what goes where ?

Thanks

The 3 wires should be earth, ignition and battery The 2 that go into 1 are the battery/ignition wires.

I know its a long way down the list but I am currently having this same problem, is the only way to do it to buy a connector?

I have an Earth, Power and Memory ones on the cd player

Got a black and red/green strip and a purple that need a home on the cinqu

HOW?!

I will make another thread over in tech

Many thanks

Genrally the easist way of fitting any stereo is to buy an iso adapter that simply connects into ur existing wiring harness then to your new stereo but this is no good if someone has butchered ur wiring harness so go to market/shop and buy a cheap light tester then use as follows

connect one end to a good earth i.e the door hinge then procede to connect other end to your harness with ignition off when it lights up this wire is your permanent live(memory) then join your memory wire to this if i recall commonly this will be the yellow wire on most makes of stereo

now repeat above process but with the ignition on but not trying the other wire above this process will now find your ignition wire which is normally red wire then put then crocodile end to this wire(the one from the ignition) keeping the ignition on then locate your earth wire(ground) then you have the 3 most important wires connected and have power!

speakers are generally a little more time consuming if you do not know what colour they are on your car but can be found rather easily by powering your new unit then going into balance and fader and set it to all front and all left for example then procede in connecting one speaker at a time to find the one that corresponds with what you set your balance/fader and then just keep changing balance/fader

if you need any more help etc post on here and someone will certainly be able to help
