any idea if the "omex clubman twin coil rev limiter" would work? The instructions say to connect two wires to the coil -. would this be the other wire, not the light blue?
 
i dont think here is a inbuilt rev limiter on the 899, had it up to 8,000 and nothing was holding it back. was hoping to set the limit to 6,000. just need to find the - wires and connect it up. anyone no which is the - or are they both +????
 
Could be that the early ones didn't. But the ECU is -- chip apart -- identical to the 1108 SPI ones.

There are two wires to each coil. Both of the ones that are not light blue (one light blue for each coil) are negative.

On the assumption that the later ECUs have a rev cut (someone will advise) then that, and swapping the chips over, might be a cheaper, simpler, option.

Assuming a sporting application, I'd go for either a standalone ECU or an advanced piggy back rather than the stock ECU (just about everything has a rev cut function).

Given a non-sporting application, I'd spend the money on something more fun!
